The governance charter of the LEA program defines various bodies. Their composition, responsibilities, modus operandi and interrelations are described below.
Scientific managers
Prof. Pascal Auquier, epidemiologist, public health expert and Prof. Gérard Michel, Head of department, expert in the field of pediatric hematology-oncology coordinate the LEA program.
The Operational Coordinating Center (OCC)
The OCC ensures the logistical management of the LEA program and the coordination of all the teams. It is made up of :
- Scientific managers: Prof. Pascal Auquier and Prof. Gérard Michel
- Epidemiologist (secretary): Prof. Julie Berbis
- Pediatrician (vice-secretary) : Dr Paul Saultier
- Project managers : Françoise Vion Dury and Vanessa Zepponi
- Database manager and statistician engineers: Alaa Mustafa Shawket et Zeinab Hamidou.
The OCC implements and controls the modalities, in particular technical and organizational, for carrying out the project in accordance with the legal and regulatory provisions in force. The OCC records access requests (inputs) to LEA program data. The OCC assists the Bureau in implementing the guidelines set by the Steering Committee and in communication actions.
The Stearing and Strategic Orientation Committee
The Operational Coordinator Center (OCC) is under his authority and brings together representatives of all the project partner teams. The Steering Committee monitors the implementation and smooth running of the project. The Steering Committee is made up of ex officio members:
- Scientific managers: Prof. Pascal Auquier and Prof. Gérard Michel
- Principal investigators of each teams or their representatives
- Representatives of patients or patient associations : Laurette Fugain, Pour le fil d’Ariane
- Secretary and vice- secretary of the plateform: Prof. Julie Berbis and Dr Paul Saultier
- Representative of Canceropôle PACA : Clara Ducord
- Director of the Research and Innovation Department (AP-HM) or her representative : Emilie Garrido Pradalie
- President of SFCE (Société Française de lutte contre les Cancers et les leucémies de l’Enfant et de l’Adolescent) or her representative : Prof. Virginie Gandemer.
The Steering Committee is also made up of permanent guest members:
- Heads of departments or cancer center managers of each investigating center
- Members of the Bureau (for those who are not ex officio members)
- Project managers : Françoise Vion Dury and Vanessa Zepponi
- Adult onco-hematologist : Prof. Nicolas Boissel
- Representative of FCCSS (French childhood cancer survivor study) : Florent de Vathaire
- Representative of the National Quality of Life and Cancer Platform: Prof. Francis Guillemin
- Representative of INCa (French National Cancer Institute)
- Representative of la Ligue Nationale contre le Cancer: Iris Pauporté
- President of the Scientific Committee of SFCE (Société Française de lutte contre les Cancers et les leucémies de l’Enfant et de l’Adolescent) or her representative : Prof. Jean Hugues Dalle
- Representative of Clinical Research Assistant: Astrid Bergerot
- President of the Scientific Council: Prof. Dominique Plantaz.
The Board
It is an offshoot of the Steering Committee. Its role is to implement all the practical steps of the project. It may propose to the Steering Committee the strategic orientations necessary for the smooth running and evolution of the project. It consists of:

The Scientific Council
The general tasks of the Scientific Council are to formulate proposals for the scientific orientation of the LEA program to the Steering Committee and to evaluate the research activity in accordance with scientific guidelines.
The Scientific Council is made up of 8 full members:
- Members of the LEA platform: Dr Carine Halfon Domenech, Prof. Arnaud Petit, Prof. Dominique Plantaz and Dr Maryline Poirée
- People not members of the LEA platform (including an adult hematologist): Prof. Nicolas Boissel and Dr. Brice Fresneau
- Methodological epidemiologist: Dr Marie Viprey
- Patient association representative: Les Aguerris
One of the two scientific managers is invited on a permanent basis.
